New AMEX offer: up to 170,000 points or 120,000 Miles
The Dutch Gold and Platinum referral offers through 24 November 2026: all four bonuses, card fees and the conditions for payout in months 7 and 13.

Four cards, four welcome bonuses
American Express has a new referral offer for its Dutch Gold and Platinum cards. Apply through a qualifying referral link between 27 October and 24 November 2026 to receive the bonus below, provided you meet the terms. The bonus is paid in two parts, not immediately after approval.
Membership Rewards points and Flying Blue Miles are different rewards. The regular Gold and Platinum cards earn Membership Rewards; the Flying Blue cards earn Miles. You cannot compare the numbers as if they were the same currency.

When do you receive the bonus?
You receive half in month 7 and half in month 13. For the first half, make at least one purchase of €1 or more every month in months 1–6. For the second half, do the same in months 7–12. A purchase is also required in the payout month, and your card must still be active.
Miss a month and you lose the half linked to that six-month period. The two periods are assessed separately. For example, the 70,000-point Gold bonus consists of 35,000 points in month 7 and another 35,000 in month 13, if you meet the conditions for each half.
This is not a bonus you receive in full after a few weeks. Include the monthly card fee up to the payout dates in your decision.

Who can use this offer?
This offer is for new applicants. You are not eligible for the welcome bonus if you currently hold an American Express card or have held one in the past 12 months. This includes supplementary cards. AMEX must approve your application through the referral link.
The checked terms also require you to be at least 18, have a Dutch residential address, earn at least €30,000 gross per year and have no negative BKR registration. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee approval. Read the full terms, including the rules on reclaiming a bonus.

What does the card cost?
The welcome bonus is temporary; the card fee continues. These are the monthly fees checked on 27 October, with the equivalent cost for twelve months. Receiving the full bonus requires you to keep the card active into month 13.
Flying Blue Gold also provides 30 XP a year and Flying Blue Platinum 60 XP a year. Those are regular card benefits, separate from the welcome Miles. No extra campaign XP was advertised in the offers checked. The card does not automatically give you the Flying Blue status of the same name.

A referral offer differs from the public offer
The figures above were shown through the Cardselect referral links. On 27 October 2026, the public AMEX overview showed 75,000 points for Platinum, valid through 28 October, and 5,000 or 10,000 Miles for Flying Blue Gold or Platinum. No public Gold welcome bonus was listed. Those are separate offers; their deadlines and terms can differ.
This article records the campaign checked on 27 October. The public Platinum offer ends earlier than this referral campaign. Use the card pages below for the latest checked offers, then confirm the final bonus and terms with AMEX before applying.

Which card fits your plans?
Start with the rewards you want to use and the fee you are comfortable paying. Gold may suit you if you want a lower monthly fee. Consider Platinum if you will use its additional benefits enough to justify the higher cost. A large bonus alone does not make a card good value.
Compare the regular AMEX cards with each other, and the Flying Blue cards with each other. Read the full card guide before choosing: cards with the same Gold or Platinum name do not have identical benefits.
